Ribbons & bows, curls and button nose!

It's a girl! Emma Grace Copeland, to be exact! We had our appointment on Monday and Mark and I were so nervous. I think the anticipation was overwhelming. We went in and right when she started the ultrasound, we saw a foot and I screamed "Awww, the foot!" As she was moving around my belly looking at the heart, the brain, the stomach organs, etc., I was trying so hard to find the girl parts or boy parts....no luck for me. After she had looked at EVERYTHING else, she said "Yep, those are definitely girl parts!" I looked up on the screen and I honestly couldn't see much but everyone in the room was in agreement that is was most definitely a girl. All I could do was cry. It all of the sudden became so real that I am going to be a mom....we are going to be parents. In an instant, I wanted so much for this little one inside of me. I want her to be a good person, to stand out with integrity, to have enough pain to keep her grounded, but enough happiness to keep her loving life. Bless her and us as we begin this journey through life together!

GIvin' it a shot!

Ok,well I have finally given in and made a blog. Apparently this is the way to communicate with family and friends these days! Just an update...Mark and I are expecting our first child September 9th and we are very excited! We have recently moved to Lubbock and I am working for Hospice of Lubbock and Mark is still working in Kerrville. He is in the hiring process with the Lubbock Fire Dept at present and we are hoping he will be here soon, for good. Bella (our Boston Terrier) sure misses him....not to mention his wife as well!!! :) We have a doctor appointment Monday morning at 10:00 to find out if this is a little boy or little girl and the time could not be passing fast enough for me. I am so excited to find out the sex so I can start shopping and shopping...Mark is thrilled to hear that :) . I will definitely be back on Monday to share our good news!
